Edited Out by Lisa Haddock Carmen Ramirez is a copy editor for the local newspaper and is assigned to update a two year old story about a lesbian school teacher found guilty of murdering a twelve year old girl and then committing suicide. As she delves into the history of the case she meets Julia Nichols, the newspaper's library clerk, and together they find the truth. This was a decent, quick read, with quirky characters, especially Carmen's grandmother. There were some interesting twists and turns. Carmen was especially well written and responded to danger the way a real person would. I enjoyed it. **Remember - if you want your favorite authors to keep writing for us they have to be able to earn a living doing it. If at all possible try to buy the book NEW. I know it sucks but if you're not going to keep it in your collection put it in the recycle bin to make another book.**

I bought this book without reviewing it first, and am pleased to say that it was hard to put down. The charcters almost seem real and the action is riveting. You really start to feel for Carmen with everything she gets herself and Julia into.
