History Book

The book was new. It was in great condition and it was for a really greatprice. Even with shipping, the book cost at least 30% less than it does on my college campus. Sipping was fast as well so thank you so much.

An Important Aspect of our Roots

I bought this book as a companion text for a Teaching Company course on the Tudors and Stuarts. To me both are superb. I am particularly interested in the foundational ideologies of the United States. The turmoil, political, social and religious discourse of the Tudor-Stuart period had great influence on the mindset and actions of our Founders. The book is well written, accessible and meaningful to both amateur and professional scholars. The authors look at the "total history" of the period, including the lives of the common people as well as the maneuvering of the powerful elite.

A great textbook

This is a great textbook for a class on Early Modern Britain. It has all the necessary background information. It's entertaining as well as informative.

Good Text

I'm a returning college student and using this as a text for the study of the Tudor and Stuart reigns... it is concise and informal, with a definite sense of humor... debunks some of the myths relating to these reigns and definitely one of the more readable textbooks that I have come across... clear and consise..
