The theory of directed graphs has developed enormously over recent decades, yet this book (first published in 2000) remains the only book to cover more than a small fraction of the results. New... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I grew up in a town much like the one Delaney describes, and she got it exactly right. Everyone knows everyone's business, and when the malls come in on the outside of town, the downtown dies. In the case of Ellie's town, peoople die too! Ellie is a great character, and her fledgling real estate career is familiar to me too, as both my parents were in the real estate business. Her worries about showing houses, pricing new listings and filling out forms were a part of my life for many years, and the author does a good job of getting us involved in Ellie's life - both professional and personal. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and I finished it in two sittings, which is a rarity for me. Hope there are more on the way starring Ellie and her friends and family!
Just for Fun!

Kathleen Delaney nails the concept of a fun, easy read! What a great book to take on a plane, read in the tub, or just enjoy from the back porch on a lazy afternoon. I loved Dying for a Change. The book quickly drew me in and I couldn't put it down until the mystery had been solved. The characters were quirky, likeable, and refreshingly real people. This is a must read for anyone who has lived through the transformation of small town America ... or for anyone that just wants to escape away for a couple hours of sheer entertainment! Great first book for the author. I loved the subtle humor and definitely look forward to more.
