Drop Dead Gorgeous

This is my first book with a vampire in it. I hesitated on reading it for quite awhile. I'm sorry I waited, it was FANTASTIC. So hot and wonderful. Kimberly Raye has a way with writing.

Meg and Dillon have been friends for years. She is known as the "man crusher" and he the "local geek". But, while Meg has spent years trying to change her image to that of a sex kitten no one in town seems to notice. They have noticed that her buddy Dillon seems to have changed overnight into one super hot, sexy machine. What everyone doesn't know is that there is a downside to the new Dillon; he turned sexy when he became a vampire. Now Meg wants Dillon to teach her how to be sexy. He has never been able to refuse her anything, so why should this be any different. Though he doesn't intend to tell her the way/reason his transformation really happened. He does agree to give her lessons in sensuality, he also wants to make up for that horrid first kiss years ago. The only problem is that the "one time only" rule with women will be a huge problem for Dillon where this one is concerned. Especially, when he sees Meg's sex kitten up close. But, as they are getting closer there seems to be some mysterious people in town after Dillon. Will his secret be revealed? Drop Dead Gorgeous is the second in a series of vampire stories by Ms. Raye. I found it to be highly entertaining and I cannot wait for the next one to come out. How can you not like the town geek suddenly becoming the town hottie, and apparently overnight? Add to that a story of two friends who finally realize what they mean to each other, and the fact that they are destined to be more than friends. Drop Dead Gorgeous also does a great job of showing how it is hard to live down a reputation even more than 10 years later, especially in a small town. I found myself chuckling out loud and cheering on Meg. I think Drop Dead Gorgeous is a fine addition to the Harlequin Blaze line. Tanya Reviewed for Joyfully Reviewed

In Skull Creek, Texas Margaret Sweeny dreams of converting from classic geek to sexy siren. However, she wonders how one changes an image that has been fostered for over two decades starting with being a tomboy. That thought makes her think about her long time friend and fellow geek, albeit former geek, Dillon Cash. Six months ago he made her look cool, suave and sophisticated; now he is a hunk. She pleads with him to tell her his makeover secret, but he refuses to inform her that his metamorphosis started with a bite. Dillon has always wanted Meg, but was too shy to go after her; now he has vampiric skills that lure every female in town except the one who owns his heart (although that proves to him that vampires may need blood, but are all heart). She finally asks him to teach her how to be a boudoir seductress. The newest Love at First Bite (see DEAD SEXY) vampiric romance is an amusing contemporary tale that will have the audience in stitches as Meg and Dillon initially try unsuccessfully to seduce one another. The two characters engage in a Texas two step as they both hide their love that existed even when both were crappy kissers. Sub-genre fans will enjoy Kimberly Raye's jocular tale of love before the first bite. Harriet Klausner
