Dreams I'm Dreamin': Devotions for Mothers of Young Children

I for one love this book! Well, maybe I'm a bit bias since I actually have a whole chapter devoted to me, but reagardless, I have read this book so many times since the day it came out. I love the varitey of stories both happy and sad alike. Reading about my aunt's life previous to my being born, and those years I was too young to remember is always a treat, especially when my mom is mentioned and I get to make fun of her. One day when I become a mom myself, I will look back and remember reading this book, and possibly read it again for the great advice on so many subjects. I love you Aunt Kimmy!!

I was visiting the parents of a friend of mine when this book caught my attention. I started reading from page one and never put it down 'till the last period. Every story, anecdote and parallel captured my heart. As a man, I realized, although geared toward young mothers, it captivated me as though Kim Boyce was writing these devotions with me in mind. I really related to the chapter, "Down and out in Beverly Hills". As I read this chapter, I felt as though I had been right there listening to that conversation with Pastor Richard. I feel as though I know the authors heart. Written with intellect as well as heart, Ms. Boyce moves past an iconoclastic society without virtue, to the heart of the matter, the peace and love of God. It's not just for young mothers, it's for everyone!!!

I recommend this to any mom who thinks she is all alone in her daily struggles. I especially liked the "McDonald's" story. It really helps to hear about other people's experiences and Kim does a great job relating them to scriptures.

I LOVED this book! The way that Kim incorporates funny and inspirational stories to everyday life is great. I have 3 girls of my own and I can relate something in each story to at least one of my children. It would make a great gift for a baby shower or Mother's Day.
