One of my all time favorites...

I have read hundreds of books and rarely do I reread unless they are extremely enjoyable. Karen Marie Moning has quickly become one of my favorite authors. I started with the Fever series and then went back and read all of the highlanders which were amazing. In that series I loved Hawk, Grimm, Circenn, Dageus, Drustan and Cian but Adam Black was a cut above. In the fever series Mac is interesting and her adventures exciting. The writing is superb and the cliffhangers are immense. Dreamfever left me gasping for more. Sheer cruelty to make fans wait a year for the final book to find out what happens. I hope the amazing characters created in this series get a life of their own in novels yet to come. I must say there's nothing I like better than to seriously crush on the male leads in novels. Some of my biggest crushes are Mr. Darcy, Jamie Fraser, Jean-Claude, Eric Northman and Adam Black. But I must say Jericho Barrons makes my heart pound...I have reread Dreamfever countless times and keep going back for another peek. Give this series a try, you won't be sorry.

Karen....PLEASE

Karen!! Please don't make us wait upwards of a year again! I don't know how you as the author can stand not to tell us this story faster! I love it all...but faster, faster, faster!! I'm groveling at your feet, begging you to stop this torment! Yes it's taking Mac time to evolve, if it didn't I would wonder how complete and sincere her change is. Very few things in life cause an immediate about face that lasts. I do find it annoying that we can't get into JZB's head the way we could the Highlanders. However, actions speak louder than words and Barron's actions tell me all I need to know about his feelings for Mac. I can't wait to find out the nitty gritty on him, I don't care what kind of monster he's been in the past! I'm wondering at this point about V'lane...is he okay? Is his attitude really changing about humans? Is his kindness and fascination with Mac only about the power she's coming into and who she will be? Or does he have real feelings for her? Christian seems to be on a major path to trial by fire that will toughen him up getting him ready to be a major player in a future series!

So Fecking Good!!

I have my usual gripes with this book, that I've had with the whole series, that have nothing to do with the story itself - I read it too fast and now I have to wait so long for the next (and FINAL!!) installment. Other than that, this book was fantastic! The best yet, IMO. It had all the usual suspense, plot twists and great dialouge KMM is famous for, and we finally got some answers. *****SPOILERS***** I am a huge Barrons fan and my man really came through in this book. We learned so much about him; his past and his motivations for doing what he does and being the way he is. We also saw a much softer side to him in this installment. The supporting characters were more fleshed out in this book and are really coming into their own (Dani, Christian, Ryodan...) Hopefully there will be some spin offs, because after dragging Mac's story over 5 books, I don't think KMM can wrap up everything for everyone in the final book. It would seem to rushed. I am looking forward to re-reading this book again, since I am sure I missed some crucial details in the wee hours of the morning. Thanks KMM for another fantasic read!!

Fantastic! The Suspense is rising up toward a conclusion that is sure to rattle the pages of the nex

When I first read Darkfever I was stunned at how much it differed from KMM's Highlander series. It wasn't a single volume romance. It was in first person. WTH happened? My initial shock preceded my appreciation of the story. I reread it. I loved it. By the second book we see a dynamic change in Mac as a character. She goes from being a barbie, too stupid to live almost, to being strong. To being extremely interesting. To being a character that women could look up to. Dreamfever picks up from where Faefever leaves off. Mac is at the worst place in her life one could be. When she is able to get back into the fight, she really does. Gone is the barbie doll of the past for good, now she is a living weapon seeking revenge. So what if her story takes 5 books rather than 1. Would you rather have a huge story condensed into one book and lose half the dynamics of the character changes? Or would you rather have the complete and total story? Questions are being answered, leaving just enough left over (plus a few new ones) to be answered in the final book. No the books are not Harry Potter, nor do they try to be. Karen Marie Moning is a brilliant woman with incredible talent for story telling. Dreamfever is probably the best in the series, with each book getting better than the last. I am not going to give away plot details in this review as I feel it takes away from the reading experience. But let it be said that the story will grip you, and when you reach the final page you will be ready for more!
