This suspenseful and entertaining story is wonderful for bringing out the best of imaginations in young readers. If you have ever stared up at the clouds and created images in your mind of what those shapes look like, you will relate to this adorable story of a mouse who thinks that a rain cloud is a dragon! As the cloud moves closer, the mouse runs to tell all the farm animals that the cloud is eating the sun and it will soon come for them. Each of the animals has its own unique way of responding to the news of the dragon coming. As the thunder begins, mouse screams past the animals and declares that it's the dragon's stomach rumbling. When lightning strikes, mouse runs and yells that it's fire that's coming out of its mouth. And, as the rain begins to fall, the animals think that it's the dragon licking it's lips. The author gives us such beautifully written details that it kept us anxiously waiting to hear what would happen next. Dragon is Coming is well written, has adorable illustrations, and kept us entertained and smiling the entire time. [...]
