Very Important Information....

I've read quite a few books on the subject of HRT and hormonal balance. Yet, Dr. Greene's book is by far the most comprehensive and best written of all those I've come across. The material emcompasses not only information about menopausal issues, but information about the hormonal system of a female from the beginning of life. It is a book that must be read by every female who is curious about what makes her tick...and is willing to learn a lot about how to keep her health at an optimum. I found the book fascinating, easy to read and a very very potent support tool when speaking to my health care providers about how I wanted my hormonal treatments to be designed. Really clear information about Estradiol, Estriol and Estrone. Which one of these estrogens is helpful and which ones are mainly waste product. And how to provide yourself with the appropriate amount of the more valuable estrogen in order to keep the brain healthy and cognitive functions at peak effectiveness. This is a book to give as a present to your female friends and their daughters. A book to have, to use, to share even with the male people in your lives. Particularly if you care enough about them to want them to know deeply about what makes you, as a female, work.

Perfect Balance by Greene and Feldon

This work provides life-long strategies for maintaining hormonal health. For instance, metabolic hormones control caloric management. The thyroid, INS and GH are the classic metabolic hormones. Regulating hormones refer to body temperature maintenance by Melatonin. Cortisol and epinephrim are stress hormones. Progesterone is the sex hormone. Important glandular structures are explained. For instance, the Pituitary gland monitors the incoming signals in the blood. The Hypothalamus is the command center for hormonal messages. The Amygdala is the seat of all emotion. Adiponectin is the fat cell hormone which stabilizes glucose. The parietal lobe deals with pain sensations. The frontal lobe maintains executive functions. The occipital lope regulates vision, The Hippocampus gathers data. The Py43-31 is the colon hormone released with food. Lower levels of testosterone lead to slower response of cerebellar regulatory balance and coordination. The difference between total testosterone and free testosterone is a pointer to identifying and treating hormonal problems. The author points toward certain vitamins to help stabilize hormones. i.e. Ca., Mg., non-fat milk, yogurt, crab, salmon , avocado, kiwi, raisins and tofu. Estradol may be utilized to reduce arthritic pain. This book has considerable advice regarding hormonal regulation and ongoing maintenance. Every health library should acquire at least one copy for the membership.

"Perfect Balance", by Dr. Robert Greene

I was intrigued to read this book after the forward Dr. Greene did for Suzanne Somers book, "The Sexy Years", and after what I learned he did for her, to balance her hormones following breast cancer. "Perfect Balance" is great information for anyone, at any age, but it is most interesting to learn how hormones affect us constantly, and that if there is an imbalance, we can feel poorly or even start to suffer from various illnesses, or ultimately develop cancer. Dr. Greene outlines bio-mutegens in our environment to avoid, and he recommends healthy foods and a healthy lifestyle to naturally keep hormones in balance. This book is packed full of well-documented research and it"s easy reading.

An Amazing book!

I've read just about every book there is out there on woman's health and hormone issues, and this one is truly the best. It gives the full story on everything from the controversial WHI study (yes, it was flawed!) to what to eat to help balance your hormones. Now I finally understand what I should be doing about my hot flashes (among other things.) The writing is not only clear and concise and easily understandable, but actually, if you can believe, a good read! Quite a feat for book this informative. Every woman should have this book in her library. I've made all my friends --and their daughters---promise to get it .
