As a recent convert to a vegetarian diet this cookbook is wonderful. The authors provide helpful notes on basic kitchen equipment, cooking tips and a shopping list for the vegan pantry, which I find especially useful. The recipes are fairly simple and yet so flavorful -- The Three Bean Chili is delicious with the Cornbread! Down To Earth is infused with the author's philosophy and passion for nurturing a quality, conscious lifestyle by awakening the vegan palate.

Lacey and Gail have brought together some of the best and most beloved recipes from the wonderful Down to Earth, where I ate regularly. I waited with bated breath for this cookbook and I was not at all disappointed. My husband and I enjoy preparing the meals, and eating them is such a happy memory, as I miss the restaurant. My young children (two toddlers and a third grader) really like the majority of what we've made as well.

if you want recipes that will not fail you - this is it! a great mix of vegan and raw food recipes sure to satisfy. the ingredients are found easily enough, and the directions straight forward. nice glossy photos in the center to show you the mouthwatering foods you can make.. and you will! I have made many of these creations, all amazing! im so thrilled to own this (a dear friend recommended it) and hope maybe they will come out with a second volume, in light of the fact that there restaurant isn't open anymore, please! An absolute staple in any kitchen.. easy way to make great food that tastes amazing and soo good for you. Whats not to love..

This is a great cookbook from a great restaurant (now defunked). It has many of the dishes that were served at the restaurant including some of my personal favorites, like the Chickpea Soccas.
