Wonderful illustrations and a warm, loving story about a little bear and his mother on a cold & wintry night (you can almost hear the wind howl and the cold of the window panes from the pictures). Sam isn't feeling well and like most children doesn't want to take the medicine that will make him feel better. Lovely ending and makes you want to curl up by the fire with a good book and watch it snow. My personal favorite...

A fun story. Sam, a little bear, has a cough is nursing back to health and is trying to get him to take his medicine. She promises to let him stay awake and watch the snowfall if he has his medicine. I have three children and they all get a kick out of this book. They like to participate reading the book by imitating Sam's cough. None of them like taking their medicine and the two older ones can relate to the many bargains...

I don't know about your children, but my hate medications. What a suprise when 2 years old Emi said "I will be brave like Sam" Since I got the book we don't struggle anymore with meds. What a relief.

This is the short tale of Sam who his mother has discovered has a cough. Sam's mama patiently negotiates getting Sam to take his bad tasting cough syrup from the too big spoon. Then they snuggle in and wait for the snow to come. This a great story to read to your kids quietly before snuggling into bed on a cold winter night.
