History Made Easy, Interesting w/ Many References to other Books

I found this book quite fascinating. It's in question and answer format which I've read isn't for anybody but I really enjoyed it. It goes through detail on a lot of "questions" on events that have occurred since the beginning of America. You do not need to be a history buff to enjoy the material. What I probably liked the most about this book besides the easy read was that it references many other books that were written in the times. My "To Read" list has grown significantly from this book.

Interesante

Libro fácil de leer con datos muy interesantes...te da una idea en general de la historia de EU, le falta algo de objetividad en su análisis...

Well this is my first review and I will say the audio version (I also have the book) is fantastic. If you are looking for an easy way to brush-up or familiarize yourself with history, this will do it. The "reader" is great, the "other readers" are, as noted in a previous review, well ... lacking. Pretty much everyone from Columbus to JFK to MLK sound like an odd cross between Thurston Howell the Third (Gilligan's Island fame) and Captain Kirk - cant imagine it, well, you'll see. It nonetheless is, including this fault, a fantastic reading of a very good history book that is very easy to listen to - and I am not really a history fan. Cheers.

This is an excellent presentation of American Hisory that makes you realize the realities of life. It does tell it in all its mistakes and accomplishments. If you have an open mind and can accept criticisms you will enjoy the book.

Now I do Know Much About History!

The audio version is an excellent way to learn about American History. Very thorough coverage organized in a question and answer format. Not at all dry or dull because it contains lots of interesting snippets about personalities and trivia. Easy to navigate between different sections and replay bits. I just loaded several discs into the car at once and listened to it on the go. I would highly recommend this product.

Very good of its kind

This is a popular and very readable history of the US, ditinguished by a high level of dissident consciousness. For example, Davis is very careful to point out the human cost to the Indian tribes of the European influx. Mostly the book progresses forward in time on the same well-rounded basis. It makes a good introductory companion to Howard Zinn's epochal volume,*A People's History of the United States*. Recommended for those who like their history in small, sharp doses.
