Book Overview

This book addresses what is probably the number one question most people have about God: If He is a loving God, why is there such rampant human suffering?

This book shows biblically that God is not at all to blame, that the cause of all suffering is sin, and it shows whose sin. It shows why Jesus Christ is the fulcrum of history in this regard, and resolves the seemingly apparent contradiction between the nature of the Old Testament God...

"Don't Blame God," By Graeser, Lynn, and Schoenheit

This may very well be one of the most important books you read outside "The Bible" itself. The authors properly identify the Devil as the main culprit behind "Evil, Sin, and Suffering." God is not a big puppet master toying with people from heaven. He is a loving heavenly father who only wants the best for his children. God does not murder people, is not the cause of suffering, and is not trying to test anyone through suffering. The lies and false accusations that have been attributed to God are repugnant. Once you read this book you will truly understand what The Bible says about the origins of: Evil, Sin, and Suffering. The Devil has been a liar from the beginning, and continually lies today by blaming God for his deeds. Read this book. Understand who is ultimately responsible for pain and suffering. After your journey through these pages you will have a better grasp and a greater appreciation for God and his word. God is not the cause of suffering, but he will take a lemon and turn it into lemon-aid. This is a solid 5 star book.

God is always good! This review written on 11/12/07

This book is in my top 5 favorites!! I was absolutley blessed when I read it for the first time over a year ago. I was always confused about the problem of evil, sin, and suffering in the bible, I couldn't for the life of me figure out if God was responsible for some of it and the Devil for the other. However, we learn in the New Testament that God is light and in him is no darkness at all so how do we explain the Old Testament that seems to acknowledge that God does terrible things? In comes the Figures of Speech, for the Old Testament is understood in light of the New Testament. We find out that Jesus made the works of the Devil known, indicating that they were not known before, and in light of these truths, we can now understand that in the Old Testament, the spiritual war was being manifested in the physical and that God was often blamed for doing evil when in fact it was the adversary all along. These truths were often covered by the use of figures of speech. What a blessing it is to know that God is always good and that He is never against us, He does not make us sick in order to teach us a lesson, He does not tempt us in order to test us, He does not make us suffer for it is said in 3 John 2: "Beloved, I wish (= pray) above (= concerning) all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth." This book does an excellent job in tackling the problem of evil, sin, and suffering, questions that have plagued mankind since the fall of man. I can think of no other book that even comes close to answering these questions outside of the Bible. However, don't take my word for granted, look inside and see for yourself. God Bless!!

Everything we should have learned in Sunday school but didn't..

Mark Graesser does a fabulous job providing truth from scripture about God, His Word, His Plan and how He is FOR us not against us. If you have lost a loved one and some said "God works in mysterious ways" or "God needed another rose petal in heaven" - don't believe them, read this book. This book should be required seminary reading for every Minister, Pastor, Teacher, Evangelist, Church Elder, Decon etc, etc. When the tough questions happen it is sure nice to have solid answers.
