A cautionary tale for children everywhere to warn of the perils of behaving badly and not doing what you're told. This description may be from another edition of this product.
I know others have commented on the hyperbole of the endings in this series possibly being a poor message for youngsters but I wonder if these same people don't read any fairy tales? In this one, the bad kid doesn't die but does have to live with pigs because he is so greedy. As a teacher, I was original drawn to these books because of the reading methodology is sound with the repetition of common onset, rime patterns (vowel/consonant blends). My son is the biggest fan because of the catchy rhymes. I really like the art and drawing style with the hip clothes and it is a lesson that I want my son to learn. I do wish it treated "greedy" as bigger than just food.
