Evansville bachelor and philanderer Barry Kade, and the wedded Beth May Flint, along with the little Mary Joy Flint, are fleeing the township of Evansville with angry husbands, fathers et al in their dust. They've headed out in an old Plymouth Belvedere and they have to cross the Todera Desert and cut through the Todera Crater on their way to St Louis and all points west. They have six bottles of water and a couple of thousand dollars with them. Inside that crater Kade saves a six year-old girl from drowning and as a thank-you the girl's more than grateful parents give Kade a memento. But what a memento! And what parents!
