Dog Facts

DOG FACTS is a beautiful 160 pg hardbound book. The core of the book is a comprehensive, visual dog directory, with eye-catching all-color illustrations depicting the world's best loved dog breeds. From the athletic German Shepard to the lovable Yorkshire Terrier, each breed is described in full detail, with coverage of such essentials as history, approximate size and weight, color and coat variations, advantages and drawbacks of ownership, and suitability as pets. There are expert insights into every aspect of dog character, behavior and care, explaining canine thought processes and motivations, and singling out what to look for to ensure your dog's health and happiness. Illustrated throughout with full-color drawings and photographs, plus many detailed explanatory sketches, DOG FACTS is an indispensable reference resource. It is the ultimate visual guide to the absorbing world of dogdom in all its shapes and forms. The book includes intriguing dog-watching tips and reveals the truth behind many dog myths. DOG FACTS answers questions like, when, where & how did the Rottweiler originate and after what is it named? Which breed of dog yodels, rather than barks? There are hundreds of intriguing facts. I purchased this book as a gift for a cousin / dog lover. She simply loves it. Has read it from cover to cover.

Colorful and informative book.

Beautiful book combining many photos, illustrations and informative text. Very easy to read, 12 and up should find this a delightful book. The facts and history of dogs are very insightful and some of the stories relating to dog love and loyalty are a moving tribute to friendship.
