Good short story collection

Good collection, I hope to see another similiar instalment that fills out the DMZ world and focuses on other factions or gang leaders that have been mentioned thruoghout the series thus far.

Fun Stories

DMZ: The Hidden War is a nice change of pace. In this volume, the stories focus on other characters of DMZ, with only a glimpse of Matty and Zee in the background. Much like the extras (mini travel guide) in DMZ volume two, Brian Wood explores other parts of Manhattan. Some of the stories shed light on how certain people lived before the war (i.e. Wilson). Other stories give an update on how a character, who is mentioned in previous issues, currently survives. By telling the stories of different characters, Wood represents multiple perspectives of the war. These little stories add more detail and verisimilitude to the series. In a way, each story is like a teaser of a spin-off, which is exciting and interesting. However, I hope Brian Wood does not attempt to create a spin-off and I trust that he will not make one. Enjoy this book.

A fine addition.

Although this volume looks like another group of throw-away, half-finished story arcs, it is actually a fairly nice breakup of the overall narrative. Additionally, this has some of the best art in the series. Shame that there can't be a larger selection of people drawing in this world.

Side stories of a civil war

I was a bit worried about this TPB because Matty wasn't in it, but upon finishing I was very happy I'd gotten past my worries. The artists involved use very emotional styles. Perfect for everyone that has followed the DMZ so far.
