In order to make ends meet, Katie John and her family have rented out all the spare rooms in the beautiful old house Aunt Emily has left them, to a wild assortment of characters. This description may be from another edition of this product.
We had a very bad library in most of my grade school classes. Sets of books with biographies of famous Americans as children-- not very well written-- and very dull and dated nonfiction on science. However, the Katie John series relieved some of that tedium. Katie John, as she helps her parents try to remain in their old house by taking in boarders is a lively and likeable character who should still appeal to the grade school set.

I read this at the age of 9. I had read Honestly Katie John! and Katie John and combed the local libraries 'till I found this one. It is different from the others and unique, full of the adventures of a fun, adventurous girl next door. It's full of surprises! You will laugh out loud!
