My reaction to Demonkeepers

Jessica Andersen has done it again! Demonkeepers is an emotional metamorphosis where the characters, once cocooned, develop into beautiful iridescent butterflies. The fourth book in her Novels of the Final Prophecy series is a fun, exciting, sexy, action-packed read that sucks you into the world of the Nightkeepers. If this book is your first introduction to the series, never fear, because this read will leave you wanting more. Though it's part of a series, you, the fledgling Nightkeeper lover, will not be left wanting. It references the first three books and gives tantalizing clues of what came before this moment, but it does not spoil them. Lucius and Jade's journey was phenomenal. They went through changes in each book from tentative and somewhat introverted learners who were eager to please into strong and confident individuals who are comfortable in their own skin. You, the reader, will feel every emotion, try to make every decision, take every breath the characters take, face all the obstacles, and sit on the edge of your seat. When reading this book, the "now" falls away and you forget you are just a reader. You become a living, breathing character in this wonderful new world created by Andersen. I LOVED Demonkeepers! It is the best book in the series so far, but then again each of the previous books held that same title for me. It just gets better and better with each book. Once you read one of the Novels of the Final Prophecy, you will thirst for more. The journey begins with Nightkeepers, followed by Dawnkeepers, then Skykeepers. Jessica Andersen is a phenomenal weaver of tales so powerful and real. Her characters come alive on the page. The Nightkeepers and their winikin are a wonderful group of characters and I am very excited to be on their journey of discovery and ultimately, their triumph.

In 2012 Mayan demons save the world with Love!

I give Jessica Andersen's latest novel of The Final Prophecy, Demonkeepers five stars! I couldn't put it down. Now I want to read her earlier novels. The author pulls you right in with wild and hot sex, interesting challenges for the characters, and a tense time frame. The research into the Mayan culture is beautifully woven into the modern world. It's getting pretty close to 2012! I'd like to believe that there are still a few ancient Mayan magicians trying to avert disaster. This series will please archaeologists and science fiction fans as well as romance readers.Great story, great romance, and great writing! Continued greatness from Jessica Andersen....

Once again Jessica Andersen has written a superb novel surrounding the 12-21-2012 countdown according to the Mayan calendar. She has managed to keep the characters fresh and believable. I would highly recommend this series beginning with SKYKEEPERS, the first of the series. I look forward to Patience's and Brandt's story in the next book of the series!

fabulous urban romantic fantasy

With a little more than two and a half years to zero date, the clock is ticking down to 12/21/12 when the Mayans predicted that demons will rise to destroy the earth. The only hope to prevent the demonic global meltdown resides with the Nightkeepers warriors who must find their mates to fulfill their magical potential while the Order of Xibalta have other plans to prevent their endeavors. In Austin, Lucius still feels remorse for being possessed by an evil Makol that has since been exorcised from his body, but not his mental state. He obsesses over atoning for his failures by channeling the Prophet's magic, but is incomplete without sex magic. Nightkeeper Jade wants to do more than just be a combat support person, but her clan only provides secondary services. Jade and Lucius are attracted to one another so she decides they both can get what they want through a sexual binding. However, as each denies their love while their attraction grows, their King orders them to hook up and to rescue the sun god from their enemy. The latest Final Prophesy urban romantic fantasy (see Nightkeepers, Dawnkeepers and Skykeepers) is a fabulous entry that moves forward the overarching countdown while also providing a strong story line. The lead couple makes the plot work as each has powerful ambitions that could be achieved if they would embrace their attraction as being more than just sexual desire. Their "Not in Love" refrains while going to the Underworld to rescue the Mayan deity will have the audience appreciating the skills of master magician Jessica Andersen. Harriet Klausner

LOVE this series! 5 Blue Ribbons from Romance Junkies!

Lucius has changed in the year or so since a makol demon tried to possess him. Still living on the Nightkeepers' compound, Lucius yearns to be someone of worth, a warrior like the men that saved him. This saving by the Nightkeepers has been hard for Lucius to come to grips with and accept. Scarred and tortured while in the makol's thrall, he had been pegged for death but for reasons formerly unknown, the Nightkeepers saved him before the makol could fully possess him. Because of this he and the others don't actually know what the results of a thwarted possession are but they aren't willing to take any chances - especially since Lucius' soul has been returned to him as a Prophet. What kind, he doesn't know but one thing is for certain, Lucius needs to remain calm and because sex magic calms even the most desperate of men. Because of this, Jade is called in to help. Jade knows she should turn down Strike's request. She and Lucius came together months ago, before his incomplete possession, and the results were explosive. She doesn't know how he has changed in the months since his soul became that of a Prophet but Jade knows her loyalty to her king and her fellow Nightkeepers is worth spending the night with Lucius. Or so she thinks. When kiss becomes more and Lucius and Jade are slammed into another dimension, things start getting interesting. The Banol Kax are definitely not finished with the Nightkeepers - not by a long shot. I have to be honest and admit that I had forgotten about Lucius. After reading the first five chapters of DEMONKEEPERS, I wanted to kick myself because Lucius is more than what I remembered him to be in the NIGHTKEERPERS, this series first installment. Now he is warrior and fight ready and his sexuality has blossomed. His feelings about Jade are hard to define but I know he loves her - both were hesitant to even begin to hope that what they were feeling inside was the work of love - they feared it leaving them and they feared it making them weak. Thrown together by the Nightkeeper king, Jade has decided that no matter what, she has a job to do and being in love is not the most important - and I love this because Jade pretty much has to eat her words and change her entire thought process. With invigorating emotions and the feelings between these two strong characters blooming faster than both could imagine, Jade and Lucius have to somehow make peace with each other and their demons - after all, magic is in the air and who knows? Love might even be the answer that saves them. Come along for an exhilarating ride into the paranormal world of Jade and Lucius. DEMONKEEPERS will keep you riveted - Intense sexual magic is the name of the game in DEMONKEEPERS and while some legends are solved, more are not and once more the world of Jessica Andersen captivates, captures, and completely grabs hold and won't let go. I am totally in for the long haul with this brilliant series - read them in order, read them ou
