Skye Fargo has contracted to help a girl find her father who went to Death Valley to prospect for gold ;but has been missing for months. It is 1861 and Death Valley is very dangerous and a place where the conditions can easily take one's life;and it is even more dangerous when there are killers out to get you as well. This is a fast paced story with lots of action and half way through it looks like Fargo has pretty well wrapped up things; when the story takes off in a different different direction .The characters are interesting and well developed. The story is one of those where putting down the book is next to impossible. There is a lot to interest the reader in such a harsh enviroment and the writing is good. There are lots of good descriptios and good lines such as; "There's an old saying, miss, about how if wishes were horses, beggars might ride."
