Written by Garfield as "penance" for the success of the grisly film adaptation of Death Wish, this sequel shows that when a decent man relies on violence to settle scores, murder becomes addictive. This description may be from another edition of this product.
The book starts off strong and continues throughout using character dialogue to present and debate ideas about society dealing with crime . Although an interesting read the ending is somewhat weak , and takes away from the compelling topic. Very worth reading .
Sequel to book not movie

The 1st reviewer WAS right (in a way). Death Sentence (the book) is the sequel to Death Wish (the book). Death Wish II and Death Sentence (the movie) both deviate from the book's plot. Both these books tell the story of Paul Benjamin and NYC accountant who becomes a vigilante after an attack on his family. The first movie changed some character details and name and all subsequent movies follow that plot.
Death Sentence is NOT Death Wish

The previous reviewer of this book is obviously not a very careful reader. "Wish" is not "Sentence." The famous Bronson film was based on DEATH WISH and has no collection with DEATH SENTENCE, which is just out as a film starring Kevin Baoon.
