Although I am without question biased, this book is worth the read. Hattie and Dick Larlham created the definitive, and still the world's benchmark, treatment center for profoundly damaged children. Hattie was an RN, and Dick was a welder, hardly the folks who we usually depend on to create this sort of charitable institution. But they did. This is their story (by necessity, in large part hers), and the story of how they did it, with a strong faith in God, and an incredible determination. There are better writers, but there's no better story.
