comprehensive

This reviewer covers all the important topics. However, I've noted some errors in the answer key.

A good place to START your nursing career*

There are alot of NCLEX - PN books out there for a nursing student to choose from, and the real question is - which one is the best one to get? Well, I don't know but DAVIS offers a comprehensive bank of thousands of questions and rationals to the questions. I teach in an LVN program and this is the book my class VOTED on to buy in order to best prepare themselves for their NCLEX - PN Exam, coming in to their lives in just a few short months. The questions are moderatly hard - I imagine this is the type of questions that they are most likely to encounter when they go in and do the real state board exam in a few months. I feel that the pre-chapter reviews of all body sections and psychology and OB and Pediatrics is a very big bonus to this book. There is also a CD test bank, which prepares the student for the ON-LINE computer version of the test - which all the LVN students must conquer in order to recieve their LVN liscense. We as a class are taking it a section at a time, in organized fashion, and we will finish the entire book by mid May. YES - it's that good. Hopefully my class will all pass the state board exam - making it a 100% statistic, and won't that be fun? Alot of the credit will possibly pass over Davis, sorry to say, because each person is solely and completely respsonbible for their success. A book alone cannot help a person to pass, but a student who assertively utilizes said book will emerge the victor. Hey - Thanks Davis! You put together a most comprehensive review book and I think that will be all that my students really need to pass the state board.... remember. It's that FIRST ATTEMPT that matters most. SMILE! Beleive in yourself, nursing students!!!!!! You're going to be alright!!!!

instructor

I am currently instructing graduates students for an NCLEX Review. I have reviewed twelve text books and have chosen Davis's for the basis of my outline. It is concise, clear and well written. The book is divided into clinical specialties which is how most college programs are stuctured making the review reflect how the student learned the content to begin with. Each chapter ends with review questions specific to the content reviewed. The end of the book has eleven practice exams from vaious state colleges. The CD rom has another 545 practice questions that differ from the book. When I took my own NCLEX exam I used a comprehensive review textbook similar to this and another text with over 1000 multiple choice questions.

Study Aid

I found this book to be very helpful with preparing me for the NCLEX PN. I like the disk encluded because it had a test bank of over 600 questions. The review inside the book was also very helpful.

A wonderful aide in preparing for the NCLEX

This book is very thourough and well written, it words the questions in a way to make you apply it to the nursing process. I would recommend this book to every nursing student.
