Karen Kelley has once again written a delightful, sexy and fun romance novel. I really love her books and her characters. Roan is so sexy and almost a perfect alpha male and Lyraka is fabulous.

Lyraka, is a half-human, half- Nerekian, with powers beyond the "normal" Nerekian. Tired of never fitting in, Lyraka dreams of being an interplanetary agent but she needs help. Roan Hendrix, special agent, injured in the line of duty, is given the job of training Lyraka, one-on-one, in exchange for a medical release so he can go back to work. Training can be rough, but especially so when both Lyraka and Roan are fighting the pull of sexual attraction every time they see each other, even if they don`t like each other very much. To complicate matters the Nerekian's have a very high sex drive and she is afraid of the consequences if she and Roan were to get together. But with Roan yelling at her and pushing her so hard, she isn't really sure she wants him even if the sparks do fly every time they are together. Evil Prince Banyon of Rovertia has long held a grudge against Lyraka's family and now plans to exact his revenge. Can Roan and Lyraka work together to defeat the evil prince and can such two very different people overcome their differences to find true love? Tune into Karen Kelley's Planet Nerek series. Dating Outside Your DNA by Karen Kelley is another delightful tale of laughter and sexy spice. Special Agent Roan Hendrix is a no nonsense type of guy. He wasn't too happy to be told by his boss to train a new recruit. This trainee is half human and half-Nerakian. That adds a whole new problem to deal with to say the least. Lyraka was tired of her solitary life and she wanted to prove she could belong anywhere. She is determined to excel at the training and no one is going to stand in her way. But Lyraka's Nerakian blood sends her hormones into overdrive with every meeting with Roan. Her training puts her with one on one contact with him. Lyraka soon realizes the attraction is not one sides and they give into their desires. But there are evil forces at work that want to harm Lyraka and her family. When Lyraka and Roan are taken their love and life are stretched to their limits. Dating Outside Your DNA is another gem from Karen Kelley. You can be sure to laugh out loud and sigh with contentment. Karen Kelley is a must buy author for me.

He wants to be back on an active team not just training people who may not ever become a special agent. When given a deal, train a half Nerakian/half human woman, one on one and be allowed to go active again. Roan knows there must be a catch and believes he finds it when she walks in and blows him away with her beauty. Lyraka has lived her life both sheltered and in the land inbetween. Not enough human to fit in there totally or enough Nerakian to feel like that is where she belongs. Lyraka has wanted to become a special agent for as long as she can remember and now is her best chance. Lyraka may not be a warrior yet but she does have some very special talents that can help out a team if she can just make it through her training. After seeing her new trainer - Lyraka is not sure if she will. Both Roan and Lyraka are trying to combat their increasing passion for each other while the training goes on. Passion defeats them but after their first night, determination is set even higher - the question is whose determination will be stronger. Strange happenings brings the entire team together early and the danger for Lyraka and Roan is ramped up, but will a rookie team be ready to work together to save their own when it really matters? Two warriors find out that in the battle of love, everyone wins. Dating Outside Your DNA brought me to attention from the first page until the end. Roan has healed from his injuries and just needs his boss to give the okay for him to get back into the field. Just what is it going to take? Lyraka knows she is different from everyone and that includes her human and Nerakian halves. She has never felt a part of anything. I wasn't surprised when Roan and Lyraka had to give in to their passion but I was amazed at how they tried to push something that hot behind their training mission. Not surprisingly it couldn't be totally done and became much more than just sparking passion quickly. I loved how they seem to be on the same wavelength towards the end when it really mattered. While there were several things coming together at the end, it was never overwhelming and just proved how well Ms. Kelley written her book. I had to smile when the elders realized just how a planet of women was going to have to change to face the future that was headed their way. Dating Outside Your DNA takes a hot and passionate love intergalactic and makes the universe a safer place to be at the same time. While recuperating from an on the job leg injury that keeps him from galactic field work, special agent Roan Hendrix trains tyro operatives. He detests having to work with Nerakians, but the stipulation for his return to space is mentoring half-Nerakian Lyraka. Deciding field work is more important than his detesting the aliens, he agrees. Lyraka hates humans so prefers not to be trained by one of them. However, if she wants field work she will accept Roan as her instructor which she does as becoming an operative means more to her than her destesting his species. Both are stunned when their animosity turns to attraction. However Lyraka fears her Nerakian sex drive will injure the soft human she wants so decides to keep her libido in check, which drives Roan crazy with desire. Sadist Prince Banyon of Rovertia sees Lyraka as an opportunity to avenge the scar on his face that her mom etched on him when she said no. He abducts Lyraka leading to Roan and his unit giving chase to rescue her. This is a faster than the speed of light science fiction romance starring two beloved enemies and a nasty villain. The story line is straightforward with a projectory that is obvious, but no one will care as Roan returns to active duty to rescue the half human he loves. With a gender sexual twist as the female heroine fears her Nerakian sex drive will physically overpower her loved one, fans will enjoy being lost in space in the Kelley universe (see CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF A SEXY KIND and The Bad Boys Guide To The Galaxy). Harriet Klausner
