I haven't read a book in a long time which grabbed my heart like this one did. I found it to be a grand adventure with tears and love and memories. Cannot say enough good things about it. You must read it.

A Heartwarming Story Of love Loss, and Found again.

From its main character Monsieur Perdu, to all the ones who are in, and become, a main part of Monsieur's life. Its about his Loss of his great love, Monon. You feel his deep Love, for her, the hurt, the Grief, and the terrible loss he experiences now that she's gone.He embarks on a journey, to finally find peace, and the want to move on in his lonely life, and to live again, and love again, and to live his life to the fullest. Just Loved Every Single Word of It !!

This book takes you for a ride

I love this book. It is so beautifully written and made go through so many emotions as a book should. So magical it reignited my love for reading after years of required reading. (I don’t enjoy books I’m required to read. It becomes a chore instead of a passion.) Anyway, I picked this up while I was yearning to travel but didn’t have the funds… this took me there. 🥰

What an absolutely wonderful story!

This book is one of the best I have read in a long time. The story makes you feel so deeply for the main character and the supporting characters. Your heart aches and swells for Perdu, the owner of what he calls his literary apothecary, a boat bookshop in Paris. He chooses books for his customers based on what they need in their lives. He lives in an apartment bustling with so many different personalities and yet he is alone. The story delves into why he is alone and what happens when he decides he no longer wants to be alone. I loved the relationships formed by the main character, Perdu, the young writer, Max, the lovable Italian rouge, Cuneo, and the heartbroken Catherine. The memory of love lost ... the chance at love found ... the desire to move on in life ... this book has it all and I found myself laughing out loud and crying at times. It was a book that took me longer than most to read because I purposely slowed down since I didn't feel ready to part with the characters. I will definitely return to this book again. It seems a balm to the soul.

Rediscover living life to the fullest

After a slow start, this becane a novel I could not put down and one I never wanted to end. I love the characters, the story, the settings and the writing.
