A fantastic, awe - inspiring read!

The Last T'EN; as it is known and published as in Australia, is a spellbinding, exceptional read from an incredibly creative author by the name of Cory Daniells. Her imagination and ability to exact such vivid likeness within the reader's own mind is astounding! I found myself drawn to her novel from the visual aspect; by it's cover, without having ever seen before, nor heard of, and unbeknownst to me as to why; until I picked it up and began to read. From the first paragraph I was intrigued, inspired and easily draughted into the world of a creation so unexpectedly vivid in its' clarity, that I was free to read and be drawn in without having to forcibly try to envision the story and the surrounds contained within. It simply unfolded before my very eyes; and I enjoyed the first book of the T'EN Trilogy immensely! If truth be told, I have almost read the entire novel in record time and am slowly making my way through the last chapter, due to the fact that I am reluctant to reach the end; as I gain such great pleasure from your work and dread coming to the final close of this first work of the T'EN Trilogy; with the realisation that I have yet to find the continuation of your next two parts to this incandescent Trilogy. Well done, Cory! I look forward to the following two books to The Last T'EN; your wonderfully creative, phantasmic reading experience you have generously sought to share with your readers. Thank-you.

The Fascination continues...

If someone suggested a sci-fi/fantasy/adventure/romance novel to me, I'd probably refuse to read it and will rue the day, esp. if it's anything like Broken Vows & Dark Dreams. I am a historical-romance book reader and haven't really ventured out of that genre yet. But Cory Daniells T'En trilogy definitely caught me off guard. When I picked up Broken Vows and Dark Dreams, I thought it's another one of my historical-romance reading material, didn't know until the first few chapters when the formula and plot seems different to me. However, I was right away drawn to it and wouldn't have it any other way. The fascination continues here in Dark Dreams, which started from the first book in the trilogy, Broken Vows. In this 2nd book, we find new discoveries and answers to some questions in the first book. We'll know more of the Reothe, the last T'En warrior. Here, Reothe character is enhanced, so is his T'En power and his weaknesses. We'll learn more of the T'En legends & the Fair Isle history, which I'll add is rich and extremely enthralling. The T'En, Ghebites, the Church people, True-people continue to clash but now there's a new traitor from within! The relationship between Imoshen and the General also continues to grow especially with the born of their son. In fact, here we see how much they are both strongly drawn to each other despite all the conflicts. There's acceptance and compromise now. Not to mention, a withholding trust. Love is apparent despite the denials. Tulkhan continues to hold himself in check because he feels expose to Imoshen. But eventually, we'll see just how vulnerable he really is. While Imoshen was often times feeling lost in Broken Vows, here we see her become more confident as she discovers more of herself, her capabilities, as well as her vulnerabilities. The ending of Dark Dreams is emotionally hanging. All the "what if's" got me thinking about this story for days. I can't wait to read the conclusion of this trilogy. Unfortunately, I have to wait till next year. I am sure it will be worth all the anticipation.New discoveries, continued adjustments, heart warming relationships, intriguing politics, heavy jealousy, thrilling treachery and the captivating, magical world of The T'En Trilogy continues here in Dark Dreams... A MUST READ!

dark dreams

Ms. Daniells captured the essense of what makes an individual love the one they're with, but desire the one they are not with. Ms. Daniells kept us on the edge of your seats wondering does I'Imoshen love the general or is she using him as her toy? Will the General accept her second baby as his own ? Is the second baby Reothe's? or is Reothe and Imoshen pulling his leg? whatever the I'Imoshen choosen one who loves her for herself or a who wants her power will die. The future is what she makes it. the book will leave you hungry for the conclusion of the trilogy.

Fantastic romantc fantasy

General Tulkham and his Gnebile army recently conquered Fair Isle, home to the powerful T'EN mage feared by mere mortals. To solidify his rule, he beds Imoshen, a female T'EN. Though part of the defeated race and now carrying the conqueror's child, Imoshen show no fear of the General. Instead she tries to educate him that a castle is not a home unless the couple living there trust one another. Tulkham wants to trust Imoshen, but fears her ability to read his mind or use her skills to take control of his mind. His advisors add doubts about her fidelity and loyalty. Since he comes from a place where women are treated as lower than chattel as opposed to this isle where equality exists, he struggles with this paradigm switch also. The opposition leader, a male T'EN wants more than just kicking Tulkham and his troops off Fair Isle, he demands Imoshen join his side. Cory Daniel has written an appealing epic romantic fantasy that rivals the best works of Norton and Lackey in fashioning a make believe world that seems so real readers will use Mapquest or an atlas to find directions to Fair Isle. The conflicts (internal and external) of the key characters add tension and depth to the strong story line. Fans of romance and fantasy will enjoy this engaging tale.Harriet Klausner

A Romantic Fantasy

Dark Dreams is a wonderful romance/fantasy book. Cory Daniells continues the captivating tale she started in Broken Vows of the legendary T'En. The story centers around Imoshen, a warrior princess who is one of the last of the legendary T'En and General Tulkhan, leader of the barbarian Ghebites who have conquered her home land, the Fair Isle. Even while learning to deal with her growing magical abilities, and her desire and love for Tulkhan, Imoshen must resist an even older bond to Reothe, the last of the T'En warriors and her betroth since childhood. Dark Dreams has it all, a legendary world filled with magic and treachery, a heroine who is torn between love and duty, a cunning warrior and a mysterious renegade. Cory Daniells writes a fast paced book filled with passionate romance and intrigue. I could'nt put it down. If you like books like Glenna McReynolds (Chalice and the Blade or Dream Stone) or Merlin's Legacy series by Quinn Taylor Evans, I think you'll love Dark Dreams. Makes sure you read Broken Vows first though!
