Best sequel series to Pride and Prejudice!

Best sequel series to Pride and Prejudice, by far! I recommend Linda Berdoll's novels to anyone who is in love with Pride and Prejudice, the book, or the A & E movie. I could not put them down! I loved how it felt as though I was watching Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle, play their parts as Mr. and Mrs. Darcy, as I was reading. Though I also greatly appreciated how the characters in Linda Berdoll's novels also resonate with the characters originally crafted by Jane Austen. I anxiously await the next installment! ;)

Loved it!

A great continuation... I read it in one sitting and couldn't get enough. I can't wait to see what else Linda Berdoll has in store for us.

Takes Pride and Prejudice to a saucy new level

Same characters, same language, same world, but with a steamy side applied with just enough tact to keep the story out of the Harlequin genre.

The Icing on the Cake!

I LOVED this book! However, I would say that this sequel is for those of us who were less caught up in the wild storyline of Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife than the Darcys' passion and the many, many ways they expressed it. Maybe this is fairly tame compared to the first, but I don't know how Berdoll could have maintained all that and keep it at all plausible. I loved that Darcy saved Lizzy from kidnappers, but that certainly isn't going to happen but once in a lifetime. All that was fun, but why I have read and reread that book is not for the adventure, but for the passionate love story of Darcy and Elizabeth. Happily, Berdoll still keeps the fires of their marriage hot. I also can't see why anyone would think this book is a repeat of the first. True, it does bring readers up to speed who may have not read the first sequel. That is slow-going for us who have the first one memorized, but that is where the similarity ends. This book begins where the other one left off, and tells in great detail what was only hinted at in the last chapters of the first book. As we rejoin Darcy, he is horny for his wife and not entirely happy to share her with his children. I must confess that I was very happy that Bingley finally gives Jane the big "O". Juliette turns up again and, like the first sequel, there are a few new characters introduced. I don't think I'll be giving anything away to tell that it ends with Wickham getting his just desserts. How it happens is a little shocking, but thoroughly satisfying. That, of course, doesn't happen until he causes havoc in Lydia's new new marriage. Best of all, the very last sentence of the last chapter ties up with the first book exquisitely. I can't wait for the next instalment! Please!

A really great, romantic passionate & fun read!

I loved the first sequal to P & P, Mr Darcy Takes a Wife, and I was so excited to read the new installment of the continuing adventures of D & E! It begins from exactly the end of the last book, and continued in the same way to enthrall me! I couldn't put it down , I was up until 2 or 3 am at night! It took me a 3 nights to read, and I was sad to see it end, I really hope Mrs. Berdoll has another book coming to continue the story! It made me feel as if I really knew D & E and was privy to everthing important in their lives! Their love is still as passionate as ever all be it a bit slowed down for Lizzys post birth health, but do not fear because before you know it, they are as right as rain. You meet many new people whom all share a part in the drama that is D & E's lives, and for some you are glad to see them go, but all in all, I believe it is definately left open in the end for another installment! People who are fans of Jane Austin, and can seperate themselves from what Jane A. wrote and realize that this is not a Jane A. book, or an author trying to write as her, but a book about two characters we have met through Jane, and are married adults, whom share a passionate love for one another, will enjoy this book. However if you are an ardent "Janite" and think married people should remain chaste after marriage but only to reproduce, this book will definately not be for you. Don't forget that Jane A. never married, and would never know of the passion that could be between husband and wife, as she herself wrote of the importance of celibacy until marriage, she most likely remained a virgin. So who knows what her characters would've been doing behind closed doors had she ever been knowledgable about such things, but as it is we will never know! If you loved the 1st sequal, you should definately peruse this book!
