A Neglected Gem.

I read this book for the first time 20 years ago and am constantly refering to it. It is truly one of my favorite books of any kind. If you are at all interested in wildlife or nature this book is a must-read. Mr. Caras is well informed and writes with a keen insight.A fascinating book that never bores, but never trivializes or sensationalizes. If you think you might be interested in this book, I am sure that you will find it richly rewarding.

I read this book while in high school in the 1960s. It is by far the best book I have ever read concerning animals and their interaction with man. It is very factual and I highly recommend it to everyone who wants to know the truth about animals. I am saddened that it is out of print and hard to find.
