Overall -- Best Anxiety Book on the Market Today

There are so many competing ideas for overcoming anxiety available in the marketplace of ideas today -- that it is truly cofusing and bewildering for the sufferer to determine which way is the road to real recovery. I agree with Dr. Foxman that the road to true recovery involves changing the way we think and respond to life, as well as changing the way we live-in and work with our physical being. Healing in this way does not happen overnight but the rewards for engaging this journey and being willing to look the dragon in the face (i.e., the anxiety state) lead to a life of much greater richness, depth, compassion, and comfort than the life one had before becoming "ill" with anxiety. This book has left me feeling hopeful, positive, and understanding "where to go" to recover fully and regain my life. I will defintely be referring to it over and over as I continue on this path.

Excellent Survey of Anxiety Disorders

This book has helped me tremendously. Anyone who has ever suffered anxiety should buy a copy. Foxman is knowledgeable, empathic, and hopeful. As someone who has experienced social phobia for the last 20 years, I can honestly say this book allowed me to take the first steps toward real recovery.

this book is founded upon fundamental techniques and results

after seeking advice from several professionals, numerous self-help books, countless "alternative" approaches and friends and family, i finally found the road to what i believe is a permanent recovery process (from anxiety). "dancing with fear" offers fundamental techniques and clear explanations that help to she light on the sometimes confusing world of anxiety. speaking as a person who has experienced severe anxiety, i can honestly say the book changed my life. not only does it offer advice on various aspects of life, it provides information on a specific program that can be completed with the help of a therapist. the goal of that program (coined the CHAANGE program) is to help people find a permanent, safe cure to anxiety. i can honestly say that after completing the program, i have experienced a sense of true relaxation, safety and confidence that i believe will remain with me for the rest of my life. i highly recommend at least a brief "looksy" at the contents of this book. i predict it shall be a valuable asset to many therapists and anxiety sufferers alike in the near future.
