I borrowed "Dancehall" several years ago, and remembered how much I enjoyed it. The story takes place in the Adirondacks. Not that far from my home town of Albany. Which was another reason I bought the book this time. I could relate to it's locale. The story is not so much a "who done it", but why was an innocent young girl murdered in the first place. Opposition to the death penalty

This is a riveting murder mystery. Contrary to a previous review, Mr. Conner did not make an error in timing. He was showing the error of re-instating the death penalty. The book was written when this was a very hot topic up here. The man in the book was minutes away from execution when the true killer confesses! If NY had the death penalty an innocent man would have died!! It really is a great book with a truly unexpected ending.

I bought this book while I was camping in Lake Placid. I have to admit that I was I was intrigued and surprised by the ending. Throughout the entire book I thought one character murdered the young girl and it was not until the end that it all came together. Good pacing and definately worth your time.
