American Dreams Dance with Me

Over this six weeks I have read a book called American Dreams, Dance with Me. This book is also a television show on NBC. This is about a family during the early 1960's. It is a fictional book, but there are many references to actual historical events. In the beginning, Meg Pryor and her friend Roxanne want to dance on American Bandstand. Roxanne talks to one of her friends who works at Bandstand and ends up getting both of them in. Meg is asked to come back as a regular but she just assumes that he is also asking for Roxanne to come back also but he didn't. Roxanne ends up getting on Bandstand as a regular also. They are assigned partners to dance with and Meg's partner is Jimmy. Later, Meg goes on her first dated to the movies with Jimmy and ends up giving him a black eye and that didn't work out. Roxanne and Meg are both very excited about what has all happened and now they get to help out with the Valentine's Dance with all the seniors. They break into American Bandstand to take pictures. Then next day Meg tells them that it was her. After school Meg has been going to the Vinyl Crocodile, there she meets a guy named Luke and is also trading records with Sam, one of her friends. But Sam is a little different as he is black. Meg and Roxanne get to help with a new television show coming on Bandstand. Roxanne and Meg get into a fight about being friends with other people and they don't go to the beach with each other for the first time. They later settle everything and come home and find out that Meg's brother has enrolled for the Marines. Meg goes to talk to Sam at her father's store. Sam's brothers tell them they need to get out. Meg's uncle comes and gets Meg out of the riot. In summary I enjoyed reading this book. Learning about a Catholic family in the 60's was very interesting this is and extremely good book and I recommend this for other teenagers.

A. D. 1st book of a series of 10

I am a huge fan of the show, and now of the book. I read somewhere that this book is the first of a series of 10 which makes me very excited. This book is in the eyes of Meg Pryor, and basically is just like the first season of the show.
