Daily Light on the Daily Path

Used books are the BEST!! There is something about opening a brand new book that is delicious but there is something extra special about used books, too. They have usually been read and reread and to think of the many eyes that have soaked in the words on the pages that are now comfortable to turn and minds that have meditated on the meaning of them and drawn food for the soul from them is just awesome! Of course I am talking about good books, not frivolous trashy books. This particular book, Daily Light for the Daily Path is full of meat and potatoes for the human soul! I hope many people pick it up and benefit from it.

This is an excellent companion to and not a substitute for the Holy Bible. This is a wonderful daily shot of the Word of God, featuring two scripture referrences/commentaries per day of the year - one each for morning and evening. What an awesome way to begin and end your day meditating the Word of Life. This devotional has been around for about a hundred years, printed and reprinted for generations. They must be doing something right!

This devotional is easy to read and the fact that it is totally Scripture makes it so precious. The verses are chosen because they share a theme and read together, they give meaning to each other. I have really enjoyed this book. Many times people add their thoughts to a Scripture reading and this is good, but often I prefer to just let God do the talking. I highly recommend this book.

It takes a subject and quotes only from the Bible to form continuity of thought for each morning and evening. Have read it for years.
