With Daily Language Review, students practice language skills covering punctuation, verb tense, conjunctions, word meaning, and more in ten- to fifteen-minute daily lessons.
How it worksDaily Language Review follows the research-based model of frequent, focused practice to help students learn and retain skills. On days 1 through 4, half-page activities provide four language exercises:
two sentence-editing exercises two items that practice a variety of language and vocabulary skills
On day 5, a full-page activity provides a more extensive practice of a vocabulary strategy or skill, and gives students the opportunity to practice using the words in their own sentences.

I am a school-based speech pathologist, so I use the "Oral Language For Daily Use, Grade 6" (OLDU) to supplement work classroom teachers assign during their Language Arts instruction. The lessons are quick and can easily be modified to meet my needs during individualized therapy. This resource is an excellent resource for quick review of language skills!

I really like Evan Moor's daily practice books (language review, paragraph editing). I've used them for a few years now (grades 3-6) in my homeschooling. I like that they don't require a lot of the student's time, but they're very effective. They also facilitate some additional one-on-one time with my daughter. I have used the Daily Language Program, (or as my students call it "DLR"), for several years. It takes about 15 - 20 minutes to do, and the results are remarkable. I highly recommend this book to supplement any language arts curriculum.

Rated 5 starsDaily Language Review books are a must for any teacher!
I have taught 3rd, 5th and 6th grades and will never teach without a DLR book again. They are simple and easy to use in the classroom, but also provide wonderful skills for students. They go beyond the traditional DOL skills and teach more skills that students need to know. These books are set up so that they can be completed in just a small amount of time but you will see a huge improvement in your students.
