Daddy

Another happy-ending Danielle Steele novel that involves Oliver, a successful advertising agent, his wife Sarah and their 3 children. After 20 years of marriage, Sarah decides she had enough of being a wife to a successful man and the mother of his children. She was smart and ambitious also. Without her husband knowing, she applies to Harvard and is accepted into their MBA program. When she tells her husband, he and their children are devastated. She decides to move out of their wealthy home in New York and travels to Cambridge where she then attends college. The story begins here and then tells how Oliver's and the children's lives change as a result of her decision. A heartwarming story that I recommend highly especially at holiday time.

A different look of how men deal

This book was the perfect example of what a man would have deal with when his wife leaves him with the kids instead of him leaving her. I was happy with the fact that DS made him work at it instead of having him say some meaningful things about the mother Sarah leaving and the kids accepting it and everything going smoothly we all know there are bound to be some troubles the perfect example is Ben the oldest son getting his girlfriend pregnant. I was REALLLY happy when the father Oliver got his second chance just like Sarah took hers I found myslef hating the mother for putting her children in that situation what kind of mother does that but on the other hand being a woman I understand her actions she wanted to know when was it going to be her turn? To live life without having to worry about kids and a husband or what to make to for dinner? I loved this book and I think everyone should read it.

A Story of Courage and Comittments in Father Figurers

This book took a 360 degree turn on the image portrayed in the media today of men in all rolls of life. Contrary to today's' movies and advertisements, this book showed strong, intelligent, loving, caring and committed men in the father roll of their families. There are a number of turns in the plot that cause the reader to have to keep guessing as to the outcome of the situations and the end of the book. I found myself getting so angry with Sarah for her actions and decisions she made which affected each family member so painfully. Her children did not ask to be brought into the world and did not deserve the decision she made. The book is great as most of Ms. Steels' books are.

How does she do it?

It's amazing again, how DS places herself & the reader in the shoes of a man. (Most of us readers of DS are women) It's great. This is a tear-jerker too. But it is one of those stories that when you are finished, you feel like you've really been somewhere, seen something, learned, experienced. Her books do that. She's a great writer!

Daddy

Danielle Steel's "Daddy" was the best novel i have ever read. All 386 pages were filled with emotion and romance and it was so exciting. Oliver Watson and his three children, Benjamin, Mel, and Sam, and Oliver's ex-wife, Sarah, cause so much emotion through out the book. When SArah leaves her family in Purchase you want to hate her. However, you realize she is doing what she has always wanted but never been able to do. When charlie comes into thier lives you think that she is the perfect woman for Oliver and the family. When Charlie gets asked " Are you .... are you Charollette Sampson?" and she replies "No the names Watson" you know that Oliver has finally found his happiness in life. From the title "Daddy" I thought the story would be about a screw up father who does nothing but screw up his family. But i was wrong, it ended up to be the mother that hurt the family. Oliver Watson was the ideal father;eventhough, there were times that things got too out of control he alwys seemed to gain back the control. "Daddy" by Danieele Steel is a perfect ten.I recommend this book to anyone who likes romance and lots of emotion; you honestly can not put this book down.
