GREAT BOOK!

I read it in just one weekend. It's a good story, packed with action and subplots to keep the reader's interest until the end. It was great to find Jake, Toad and Rita again, after all these years. I only wish they had appeared in more central roles. I think Toad has grown as a character in "Cuba", though. The development of the characters in Cuba, as well as all the Steve Coonts' previous novels, is the best I've ever seen.Reading about Jake, Toad and Rita again is like reading about old friends.A great book for all the Jake Grafton serie lovers.

Coonts at his BEST

Great book! As riveting as 'The Devil's Teardrop',with a powerful ending to rival "The Triumph and the Glory" and a style perfect for the genre, this one is a must-read for fans of military thrillers.

A real Thought-provoking Thriller!

I could not put this book down! As a former USAF B-52 crewmember, I could visualize every facet of the master "game plan" and marveled at the technical accuracy of the author! Dynamite!

From Lt to Vice Admiral, how time flies.

As an old "brown shoe" Navy man (Pensacola 57) I love naval aviation books. This is one of the most enjoyable. From the days of nearly being court martialed in Nam, to Rear Admiral. Jake Grafton has progressed. So too has Stephen Coonts. This is a well written, carefully crafted novel; his characters are believable and the plot builds to the appropriate crescendo. My only regret is that I see an end to the jake Grafton books, he will now be too removed from any action.

All-out action

'Cuba' is one of Coontz's best. I bought a copy along with 'The General's Daughter' and 'The Triumph and the Glory' thinking I'd be set for a couple weeks but ended up reading all three in four days I'm a big techno-thriller fan and look forward to the new stuff from Coontz, Clancy, Dake Brown, et al because every other genre puts me to sleep. Jake Grafton takes on a scheming Cuban politico in this one and the action never stops. It's sort of a new twist on the Cuban Missile Crisis updated to 1999, Coontz style. Enjoy!
