The Crystal Moon, Magic of Luvelles is the second book in the Worlds of the Crystal Moon series written by Phillip "Big Dog" Jones. This description may be from another edition of this product.
As soon as I got this second book, I finished it in eight days. Book 2 takes the characters in Book 1 to a whole new stratosphere (literally). Magic of Luvelles is as engaging and entertaining as World of Grayham. The struggle between Sam and Shalee is real and as George grows in his power, the deception gets even better. The animal characters are adorable. Kepler and Maldwin are strong favorites, and who wouldn't want a Payne of their very own. This is a book I would highly recommend.

Big Dog, my brother from another mother, if you are reading this, thank you for such an incredible journey. I swear to god that I want to see this series on the big screen so bad. I cannot wait for book 3.
NEW LEADER IN FANTASY IS TOP OF THE HEAP!

I was in love with Worlds of the Crystal Moon when I read Book One, World of Grayham. It was a story of epic proportions that challenged the standing of great fantasy authors. WELL, MOVE ON OVER LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! Phillip Jones has come up with something that just keeps growing with the telling. This story started out larger than life and grew to be even bigger and better in the second book, Magic of Luvelles. While Phillip Jones writes in a unique style, it is so masterfully done that he is reaching beyond the bounds of traditional fantasy/sci-fi as well as the new age of fantasy. Jones is truly in a class of his own and, as "Big Dog," he is the top of the heap! Luvelles is a world beyond description, and yet I could see the richness, the colorful surroundings. The people were fascinating and terrifying. The dark and light within the story is intertwined in such a way as to reveal the impossible and improbable as very colorful fact. I was enthralled with the development of the plotting amongst the gods and mortals, the love and betrayal of love, the lovable Payne, who also repelled. And to meet a dragon such as we meet in this story...WOW! Jones has truly brought to life a wonderful new adventure, and keeps us all guessing as to what will happen next, and how can he top this one? I highly recommend this book!
Magic, indeed!

While writing a wonderfully vivid story in his own style, Big Dog brings us to worlds, creatures, and wonders that surpass even great fantasy tales like the Dragonlance Series by Tracy Hickman, and Terry Brooks' Shannara Books. The plotting and game-playing that started in Book One takes many twists and unexpected turns in Book Two that leave you gasping for breath. I even found myself yelling questions at Mr. Jones from the comfort of my home - "What did you do that for?!!" I would just get set in my mind where the story was headed, and it would shear off in an unforeseen direction, always a more imaginative and often pleasing one. How does even a genius' mind come up with so many vivid, vibrant places and peoples? You have a truly twisted imagination, Mr. Jones! I found myself caught up in the twists and unexpected turns of the cunning characters as they scheme and struggle, love, live and grow in a setting that is both beautiful and amazing as the story comes to life page after page. I loved the further development of the characters and their relationships from Book One and the introduction of newcomers. Jones uses his talent to make each character come to life and truly live with a depth that endears even the most evil ones to his readers. My love/hate relationship with George and Lasidious, the God of Mischief rose to new heights. I am left in awe of Big Dog's talent to bring his dreams to life. Thank you for sharing your dreams and your mind with us! I recommend this book to you, yes, YOU!
BRILLIANT!!!

Crystal Moon-Magic of Luvelless is a delightful read, a true piece of mind candy and the kind of book that I recommend to my friends. Okay here's the deal, this book is about opening our eyes to new perceptions of reality. This is the second of two brilliantly funny science fiction adventures set in a universe where deception and intrigue have been elevated to an art form. Crafting an elaborate fictional world for his second novel, complete with fabricated news reports and other source material, Phillip Jones successfully evokes a moment that will make readers wonder: could this be real? Jones delivers the goods his fans expect in this atmospheric and fast-moving epic story: buried secrets, supernatural elements, and a magical setting. It is a saga of ambitious power grabs, black-hearted betrayals, and star-crossed romance. As in his widely praised World of Grayham, Jones shapes the well-worn elements of epic fantasy into a lush, absorbing narrative, even his minor characters, caught up in fiendish plots and deathly secrets, ring regally true. Vivid description and characterization, as well as a complex, intricately crafted setting reminiscent of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter universe, keep the pages turning at a rapid rate as Jones embarks on an enthralling tour. The second installment in this winning series, Magic of Luvelless is even more surreal and darkly quirky than its predecessor. Jones hits a sweet spot, appealing to mainstream audiences and hardcore fantasy fans alike, not to mention a legion of teenagers drawn by imagination and intrigue. This is a classic in Sci-Fi and in New Age Fiction.... But it's also very down to earth.... If you are so obsessed with Tolkien that you find yourself unable to enjoy anything similar to his concepts then don't bother reading these books. They are well written and entertaining. I highly recommend them to anyone who is not as blind and foolish as to be unappreciative of a creative work simply because it is reminiscent of another creative work. If you're having fun when you do something is it a game or just a job you happen to like?
