Rooney has done a nice job tying the ups and downs of the championship season around the theme of For the Team, For the Journey, For the Event--a mantra passed along by former DU hockey legend Keith Magnuson who tragically passed away in December '03. The book provides a inside look at one of the top programs in college hockey. It is interesting to read how close this team was to falling completely apart before their miraculous run through the NCAA tournament. Rooney was able to get numerous quotes from both coaches and players. Game articles from the Rocky Mountain News are a nice touch. The book is pitched as a commemorative piece which it is certainly that. Well-done and an enjoyable read.
