Criminalistics: An Introduction to Forensic Science [With 2 CD-ROMs]

This book is a wonderful text book covering many subjects about forensic science including it's history and contributors to develop how scientists investigate. It's a great book for anyone interested in learning about the subject matter. It might be required for a college class or something but I'm reading it and studying for fun. It's quite interesting so far!

I picked up this book as a highschool student who was mildly interested in forensics. Having read it through, I can confirm: it is a fantastic intro to forensic sciences and criminology. It touches on a plethora of subjects and describes them in a beginner friendly way. It also provides examples of cases that were solved using specific forensic techniques, short quizzes for each chapter, and a list of further reading material for each subject it covers. It’s been an indispensable resource and has helped spark a genuine interest in forensics.

The price for this book was excellent and the condition was as expected. The item arrived within a short time.

This book came as described and was very useful to learning about Forensic Science

this is a book that is well written and organized for advanced high school students interested in forensics. There is a good balance of technical information along with captivating straight from the police blotter case files. The end of chapter questions serve as a useful review of the material. There is a college edition with CD out there and am glad this book has found a spot in college and university buy lists.

As textbooks go this is without a doubt the best one that I have ever used. This book manages to explain complicated things such as DNA, and other techniques, and tests that are used during the course of an investigation in simple terms that are easy to understand. Especially if you are new to the idea of Forensic Science. Simple explanations, with colored pictures, diagrams, and case studies help show how different tests, evidence collection, and other aspects of Forensic's are used to help "catch" the bad guy. Again easy to read and understand. Well worth the purchase, you will learn a lot!

This is without any doubt, in my opinion, the best book everwritten on criminalistics. Not there are not any other great books on the subject, however this is the greatest. It is suprisingly comprehendible considering the complexity of some of the topics involved. The photographs and drawings are crystal clear.In addition I especially like the test at the end of each section that I feel is necessary to help the reader realize his knowledge,(or lack of knowledge) of that section.
