The main character, the heroic Major Samuels, is a former Green Beret with a skill set that make him nothing less than a human Swiss Army Knife. (His beautiful, but tough as nails sidekick Captain Devore ain't no slouch either.) Whether it is tracking the bad guys, hunting elk for stranded survivors in the mountains, or hammering out teamwork among rival federal agencies, Bobby Samuels is the guy you want watching your back and saving a nation. Just don't ask him to handle his own inner demons, which are too much hard drinking and a broken heart from losing a pregnant wife to a drunk driver, unless, of course, his country has a nuclear knife at its throat.
