Quirky and Cute.

Okay, this is too weird. The other book I just read, Witch is When it All Began by Adele Abbott, was about a young woman who had recently taken over her father’s P.I. agency and inherited a secretary who sat around knitting all day and making sarcastic comments. This book is the same way. The agency was her uncle’s, the uncle’s will insisted she keep the aging secretary who knits and makes sarcastic comments. Plus, this author also writes paranormal books, as did the author of the Witch P.I. mystery series. Adele’s writing was cute and spunky. Rose’s writing starts off boring but finally gets cute. Rose even use’s Adele’s last name for a character in this book. Allison Abbot. Something is amuck. Maybe they know each other. They are probably in the same authors group. It starts out slow and boring, but it finally got cute. It is really cute how the fast-driving 70-year old assistant is always tagging along after her to keep her from getting killed and to push her into dating the police detective, Jake. It has some abrupt endings, leaves out some pertinent or obvious information, has a few missed opportunities, but was still worth the read. It's a quirky book and I will read the next one because I like quirky. I would recommend it for a quick, fun read.
