Creating Your Own Tarot Cards

The first chapter serves as a sort of peptalk for taking on the whole project. Chapter two covers a bit of the symbology that is standard to modern Tarot decks. After that you have a couple chapters where you start to lay out some thoughts for illustrations that suit you individually and also based on Tarot readings you do personally. The majority of the book is "forms" for you to fill out. On the left page is a large sketch of the Rider-Waite version of the card (you can color it in if you would like, or use it to pinpoint certain symbolic details that you'd like to have in the card you are creating). The opposite page is a place to take notes, and list correspondences, and at the bottom any key words you need to remember. Fully 3/5 of the book consists of this section. At the end you will find a section on reading layouts (too short to be of use) and even some clip art as springboard ideas. This is a nice book if you want to compile details from several sources before designing your own deck. But you will need to invest in other books to research what those details might be if you don't want to merely recreat the Rider-Waite deck once again.
