Lillian Too - Creating Abundance with Feng Shui

Harvard MBA, Lillian Too is the most prolific author on Feng Shui, bringing Asian Feng Shui to a Western audience, distilling and interpreting wisdom from ancient esoteric writings to a modern audience. Indeed, my bias in my reviews is that I am a huge fan of Ms. Too, and am very glad that her daughter Jennifer Too seems to be embracing and walking in her mother's footsteps as she co-authors the annual guides with Lillian Too. Creating Abundance with Feng Shui takes a different perspective on Feng Shui and indeed is "A Guide To Enriching Every Part Of Your Life, From Loving Relationships To A Positive Self-Image." Of course, some of the basic introductory Feng Shui information overlaps with some of her other many, many Feng Shui guides, as they must so each book may stand on its own. However, most of the book is new information and certainly presented in a different way. For example, since I'm a Dating and Relationship Expert, of course, I am always intrigued to read more nuances around the ROMANCE sections. Ms. Too makes the point that in Feng Shui as in multiple Asian cultures, the idea of ROMANCE is always in the perspective of being part of a family, multi-generational, in context with other family members, and having children. Think of the concept of Chinese Dynasties. In her section on LOVE and FAMILY relationships, she provides concrete suggestion to use in conjunction with her Feng Shui tips. "'Luck cannot be said to be auspicious when one has no family.' In the Chinese pattern of life and living, there can be no meaning to a man's life when is not part of a family....The Family represented...the traditional focal point of success and aspirations." Westerners may at first be tempted to cherry pick a chapter or two on a single topic in which they are interested, like LOVE or WEALTH as if our lives are compartmentalized. However, Ms. Too's approach is to apply ABUNDANCE creation leveraging Feng Shui into EACH and every segment of our lives, so that, like an Eight Mansion Formula diagram, the WHOLE of our lives is blessed with abundance. After you have cherry picked your chapters, do go back and read through the whole book and apply tips in each section so your whole life receives the blessings of Good Fortune Luck. Highly Recommend

internal feng shui

This book is indeed different than Lillian Too's others because of the spiritual slant, which is very refreshing and interesting. She writes almost from a self-help standpoint - including space clearing, affirmations, and internal states. This book has no glossy gorgeous pictures for which her other titles are famous, but still is very relevant, with all of the practical information. Read it -especially if you were wondering what to do about all those poison arrows!

This book goes beyond the average!

I have read a number of books on feng shui, but none written by this particular author. I found information here that I have never seen in other books on the subject. For that reason alone I would highly recommend this book. Some of the things I found especially interesting was "space purification", which I had never been exposed to before. I also found the exercises to access your personal chi to be very interesting, as well as the use of quartz crystal to improve yourself.I had also never heard of the use of Kua numbers (based on birth year) and how they are used to establish tien yi directions and nien yen directions. I thought this was very interesting because it gives a more personal approach to the practice of feng shui.I was also surprised and pleased to see the use of mantras in the book... as well as a section on getting rid of mental negatives. The inclusion of these items put a more spiritualistic slant on the book that is not often seen in books on the subject. All in all, this was a very nice book that was well worth reading. Putting a few of this book's principles to work in your life should have a very positive outcome!
