It has been said that a broken clock can be correct at least twice a day. Although Debi has good points to make she mostly blames the wife for her husband's failures, she deals mostly in guilt trips and shaming. There are instances where she really stretches the scriptures to make it fit her agenda. There is a place for examining yourself and your actions and appearance and say this could have lead my husband to behave in a sinful way but his sinfulness is due to him not me. For instance, I sought out some spiritual help books because my marriage seemed to be in trouble. She wrote that the wife is a gift to her husband, so what kind of gift are you? Well, that really rocked my world, I did do some self reflection and I wouldn't want me as a gift either, but she goes on to say that is why your husband doesn't want you anymore.she goes on throughout that chapter talking about your hair, your make up, your speech, etc, actions. She did not deal with the heart issue at all. God calls us to be like Him, and we strive for that then we become the good gift to our husbands. Whatever our husbands response is to the wife as a result of the wife's sinful heart the wife is not held accountable according to Scripture. For instance if the wife behaves badly and talks badly to her husband and he in his anger berates the wife, those are consequences of sin, not that the wife is responsible. God will hold the wife accountable for her behavior and God will hold the husband accountable for the way he responds to the wife's bad behavior and vice versa. The author Debi does this often puts the moral failures of the husband onto the wife because she behaved badly and that is not what Scripture teaches. Read with discernment. Like I said she does bring out admonishment to the wife to check her heart attitude, she just doesn't ask you to bring it before God for correction, she relies heavily on changing your behavior.

This book helped open my eyes to the biblical truths of how a wife should be. It focuses on what a woman's role is in marriage and how to deal with and cope with certain things you cannot change. My marriage and myself as an individual have benefited so much after reading this book.10/10 recommend
