CRA series read

I have chose to read all three books within the series and this is the best one yet. It was definitely different than the movie obviously, but not bad!

amazingggg

loved this book! can not be compared with the movie because the movie skipped over and redid a lot, the characters are so much more likable in the book i think.

Good, not spectacular

If you need to spend 5 hours in the ER you might as well have a humorous book to kill the time! Or, if you're just stuck at home in a quarantine, that's good too. I heard rave reviews about this book and decided to try it even though I normally only read more historical accounts or memoirs. While these people aren't real, it's based on how real people act so it's memoir-adjacent, which was good enough for me. I thought the ending was BLAH and was kinda mad about it (there's no resolution with the main characters, sure there's a heartfelt story from the mom of the girl, but the girl and her guy don't come to any conclusion), but the book as a whole is interesting and funny.

Book was good, but I won't read others in trilogy

I enjoyed this book. It felt like a cross between Gossip Girl and Pride and Prejudice. It was a quick read and funny; although, despite the vivid detail with which Kwan writes, I still found it hard to fathom the extent of the wealth and opulence he described, simply because I have never seen anything like it in my life. I hope the movie will bring it to life for me when I watch it. That being said, I don't think I liked it quite enough to read the other two books in the trilogy.

Interesting cultural immersion

This book was a very intriguing look into the social and cultural ins and outs of affluent Singaporean society. The characters are a delicious span of relatable, admirable, loveable, despicable, and horrifying people. I loved this book.
