Dogs bark upsets the sleepy Cow until one stormy night when all the woofing brings a rescueand the Golden Ruleto the barnyard. Ages 4D7. This description may be from another edition of this product.
This is one of our favorite Cow books. Much like "Cow Finds a Friend", it deals with judging people, preconcieved ideas, etc... I really liked the message in this story. Cow thinks the Dog is just a stupid dog who barks for no reason, and then the dog ends up saving Cow, and the dog explains why he barks--it's his place on the farm, etc... I love that Todd Aaron Smith puts these great ideas and topics in such an easy way for me to get to my kids.
Great series, great pictures...

We just found this series at the library and my 2 boys (4 & 3) absolutely love it! We love the wording because it has enough explanation to engage young children but not too much that they lose interest. The pictures are also great and nicely drawn. As a side note, I don't know where they got the book description, but dog does not alert farmer to pull cow out of the mud. Dog pulls Cow out of the mud all by himself! My boys love the picture of dog tugging hard (and looking very mean) to pull cow out of the mud.
