This is an amazing account of Richard Pool's involvement in Dunkirk, his survival of the sinking of HMS Repulse off Mayala in 1941, his escape from Singapore on the Fairmile Motor Launch 310 with 43 others (including Air Vice Marshal Pulford and Vice Admiral Spooner), his survival with the shipwrecked crew on Tjebia Island (Spooner, Pulford and 16 others died of disease there), his capture and survival as a POW on the Burma 'Death' railroad, and finally his release. This is a remarkable firsthand account of these most trying times. It is amazing this man survived the War.
