Country Living Cottage Style

This is a really gorgeous book. I love it! There are many different styles represented here but always faithful to the idea (which I hold), that cottage homes should be cozy and informal, a place to relax by a fire, sip cocoa, and read a good book. These are such homes. The cottages are uniformly charming and with emphasis on light, airy rooms. I like that. The photography is also beautifully done. A great choice for anyone who loves the small cottage lifestyle.

I really like this book. I enjoy looking at it over and over. There are a few homes pictured that aren't my taste ( red plaid wallpaper, etc.) but most are lovely.

A laid back life, a haus that is easy to maintain & to be able to relax or a badly needed get away, this is a must read. Trust me, you will love it, I read it & dream good dreams afterwards

I knew from the cover this would be a book to indulgemy senses.The small house pictured with a white couch,with a black embrodiered pillow,centered in the middlealong with a vintage candolier drew me in. Every page has a treat for the eyes.White panelledwalls,stone walls,and small white beadboard in thebathroom's.A beautiful blue fabric couch centered inan old-fashioned three window setting.Simple butelegant. It shows some new cottage rooms,some a combination:Vintage with new,and some with more vintage style.There is a smorgasbord for every type of decorating,and true appeal for every age group.Some very talenteddesigners left their mark in the rooms. I keep going back to this book for ideas and just pleasure.It helps me to relax. Some fascinating finds were the gothic arches forbook storing.Also,the crisp white porches with pillars,that seem to be making a comeback.Hoorah!Their were multiple bathroom choices allowing youa different vision. The flea market style in this book was above what isusually associated with the words flea market.It is used successfully because the objects found have suchpotential. At the end,are shown easy displays to copy if youare starting out,and don't quite know what to do toachieve a personal look.

This book is full of wonderful pictures and ideas for the cottage look. The pages are not overcrowded or overwhelming. It has become my favorite of the "Cottage Style" design books.
