Cottage by the Sea

I like Debbie Macomber novels, but this one was my least favorite read by far. In fact I stopped reading it halfway through because I found it boring, strange & honestly depressing. I did not like the storyline & all of the depressing situations the characters were in. Animal abuse, death, tragedy & child abuse. Not the fun lighthearted summer read that I was looking for.

Finding the right words to describe this book is going to be challenging. Amazing doesn’t even begin to describe it. When Annie experiences tragedy, she sets off to find herself. She has no idea what Oceanside will offer her but she is ready to start over. Her story includes love, loss, tragedy, sense of self, self improvement, friendship, and family. Debbie’s descriptions had me in tears more than once and at the same time brought me joy. I honestly think every book lover needs to read this book. It is perfect. Absolutely perfect.
