Anyone who is a fan of Katherine Hardy, will absolutely fall in love with her "cast" of characters that span 40 years. Yes, the book is huge, but well worth the time it takes to read it. I am finding that I can read 100 pages without even knowing it! Very readable, and easy to follow, as the characters are memorable. I hate to finish this book, it will be like leaving people I have come to "hate" and "love", and a neighborhood I have come to know so well. Great read.

This is my first Katherine Hardy book, and I have to say , it is absolutely wonderful. The characters are so well defined (and there are alot of them), that it isn't a problem to keep them straight in your head. It is a massive book (1024 pages), but the author is so "readable", that the book reads at an amazing speed. Extremely hard to put down. Five ***** for Katherine Hardy
