I received the cookbook as a wedding gift in 1993 and I still go back to it over and over again. Now that my kids are 13, 9, & 7, they get a kick out reading the recipes to Mom. My copy has crayon scribbles, grease drips, chocolate drops and god knows what else strewn about the pages, which is a sign of a well used cookbook.(That or just a sloppy cook!) Our favorite, Liar's Chicken Wellington! The humor is great and brings the joy back to cooking. This is a great gift to anyone for any occassion. I am buying several copies just to keep on hand!!!
I wore this one out. I came to order a new copy.

This book offers some very tasty (but not low-fat, really, but who needs it?) and simple recipes with fun titles like "Salmon Ella", "Pro-Pasto Salad (I've Never Been Anti-Pasto)". It also offers menus of what to have for certain events like a barbecue and when the boss comes for dinner, that sort of thing. I also thought the artwork complemented the humor of the book. The Butterscotch Banana Bread was the best I've ever made. Check out "My Mother-in-Law's Meatloaf" and then "My Meatloaf", both on the same page for comparison.
