Has sugar for sweetener

Very disappointed in this cookbook. I bought it thinking because of using coconut flour that there would be no sugar involved. I was expecting honey or maple syrup to be used in place of sugar. The recipes call for table sugar which I do not ever use.

Great Cookbook.

Great recipes. Love the taste of coconut flour. With these great recipes you don't miss the wheat flour. And they are so healthy for you.

LOVE the coconut flour muffins!

I now make pumpkin, pineapple/banana, and sausage/cheese coconut muffins and freeze - nuke a couple for breakfast - they're not only good for you, they taste GREAT! This cookbook discusses how to use coconut flour, many of the recipes incorporate coconut oil, and gives you enough information to improvise even further.....

Wonderful recipes

I've only tried one recipe from this book so far, but I've read many of them. These are great recipes. Many with very few ingredients. The recipes are very simple and the one I tried so far had great results. Everyone who tasted the cookies loved them! One co-worker asked for them 3 days in a row. And I just happened to have some with me all 3 days. I noticed that by using coconut flour, there is very little flour used in each recipe, but if you don't like to use a lot of eggs, you may not like a lot of these recipes, as there are about double the number of eggs used as in recipes with wheat flour. The end product was quite tasty.

Glad I have this book

IF you don't have a problem with eggs, this is a great recipe book. I've made several of the muffin recipes and and a few of the loaves as well. I reall like the taste and texture and have recommended the book to several people. Whether the results are high or low carb depends on which recipe you choose, and you do have a choice for many of them of using the stevia-only versions. You don't have to use a recipe with cornmeal or cornstarch; they're in those particular recipes for a reason, but not in all of them. You can choose coconut milk, or any other non-dairy milk. I don't get why some reviewers make things so difficult for themselves. Can they use every recipe in every other cook book they buy? I'm not interested in every recipe in the book, but there are many more I have yet to try, and will. Of those I have made, the ingredients, except for the coconut flour itself, are all readily available.

love this cookbook!

When I got my copy in the mail, I was surpried at how wonderful the recipes looked when I flipped through the book. So far I have made the pancakes and meatloaf and both were very good. This book is a keeper and I just know I will use it daily. I have been looking for a way to replace wheat for a long time now (not allergic to wheat, just want to cut back on the amount I eat day in and day out). I have tried almond flour and protein powders, but not thrilled with the out come. I went ahead and ordered the coconut cookbook by Bruce Fife also. Can't wait for that one to arrive. You must try this book if you are serious about adding coconut to your lifestyle. I cut back on dairy also, so the use of coconut milk is another plus. This Boy can cook, that about sums it up for me.

A Real Learning Experience

Being allergic to so many foods that I know of and some that I do not know; I was eager to read this book. As I read the information I was truly surprised at the problems that wheat and gluten cause in people that they are not aware of, myself included, and wheat is in just about everything that we consume. That is not good for those of us who are not informed of the problems wheat intolerance can cause. However, take heart! The author gives us a wonderful alternative in the use of coconut flour. This versatile flour can be used to make just about any recipe that you want, with a few adjustments. Coconut flour is also good for you. It improves digestion, helps regulate blood sugar, protects against diabetes, helps prevent heart disease and cancer and can even be in aid in weight loss. Sounds almost like a miracle flour doesn't it? Perhaps it is. This work is absolutely chock full of easy to understand information on the use of Coconut flour and its benefits. The author has also given page after page of delicious recipes that use this flour and can be substituted for those you now use. You can still have the foods you love but without the bad effects of wheat. This is a well thought out, well researched book and one that as you read it, you can tell the author knows his subject matter. That is comforting. If you are concerned about your health, looking for some answers to improve it this work is for you. I'm going to keep it close by as a reference and share the valuable information I have acquired from it. Great job! Great book! I recommend this one.
